Maria Tonti
Maria joined ILSI Europe in October 2024 as a Scientific Project Manager. She oversees task forces and expert groups related healthy ageing.
She obtained a Master’s Degree in Agriculture Science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a specialization in Food Science and Technology. During her studies, she followed an Erasmus Exchange Program in Lebensmitteltechnologie in Technische Universität Berlin and a 3-month Erasmus+ Internship Program in the department of Chemical Engineering in KU Leuven, where she continued to pursue and obtain her PhD.
Her doctoral research centred on employing novel technologies, specifically radio frequency, to enhance the microbiological safety of food, with part of the work conducted in collaboration with NOFIMA in Norway.
During her leisure time, Maria enjoys travelling, hiking, climbing, photography and music (she plays the piano).
