Naomi joined ILSI Europe in November 2021 as Scientific Project Manager. She is leading the microbiome cluster, including the Prebiotic, Probiotic and Health Benefits Assessment of Foods Task Forces.

She holds a double master’s degree in Molecular Nutrition and Toxicology and another in Food Law and Regulatory Affairs, both from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. She finalised her studies as an intern at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the Rome-based UN agencies for food and agriculture and Amsterdam Centre for World Food Studies.

Previously, she worked for a Dutch academic consultancy agency as account and project manager, involved in projects such as sustainable farming and innovative foods. Before joining ILSI Europe she was working at a Brussels-based NGO, specialised in the protection and representation of European consumers in the food sector.

She is passionate about interdisciplinary approaches to address the current challenges in the agri-food sector. By combining nutritional, policy and legal knowledge, she would like to contribute to an agri-food system that is healthy for humans, while safeguarding the planet.

In her free time, she loves cooking and enjoys good food, gardening, artistic classes such as drawing and painting, snowboarding and (open water) swimming.
