Prof. Louise Dye, new Vice-President of ILSI Europe

Prof. Louise Dye has been appointed the new Vice-President of ILSI Europe by the Board of Directors in December. Also member of the ILSI Europe Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), Prof. Dye is a valuable member of ILSI Europe’s scientific community. She actively contributes to a number of ILSI Europe scientific activities, including our Nutrition and Mental performance Task force, within which she chairs the Systematic Review of Plant-Based Ingredients and their Effects on Cognitive Performance. She is also part of the organising committee for our upcoming 4th Symposium –on ‘Nutrition for the Ageing Brain’, taking place in Lisbon (Portugal) in June 2020. The abstracts submission and the registrations are open now.

Prof. Dye, a chartered Health Psychologist, is also the Chair of the N8 Agrifood Programme in Nutrition and Behaviour & Food Theme Lead of the University of Leeds. Her research interests include functional foods for cognitive performance and well-being as well as cognitive function in altered metabolic states such as PKU, Cystic Fibrosis, obesity and diabetes.

Her longstanding scientific contribution has brought her to wear many hats: she is currently member of the BBSRC Strategic Advisory Panel for Biosciences for Health, the BBSRC Diet and Health Research Industry Club (DRINC) Steering Group a. She is Associate Editor of Nutritional Neuroscience and the European Journal of Nutrition.
