The apparent prevalence of food allergy and increasing globalisation of the food industry is making it a priority to develop approaches to minimise its impact on public health. Collecting an evidence base to objectively define the problems presented by food allergies is crucial to the development of such approaches.
An international symposium (Nice, October 2010) on this topic brought together over 100 key experts and this report provides an overview of their presentations and shares comments made during the discussion sessions.
