Seminar on Process-Related Compounds and Natural Toxins 2019

Gembloux, Belgium
14/11/2019

Background
As consumers are often exposed to naturally occurring contaminants and process-related compounds in their diets, it is crucial to investigate how these compounds are formed in order to improve how we detect and measure them and to assess their safety.

Objectives
• To present scientific topics related to process-related compounds which includes toxins, hydrocarbon, mineral oils among others;
• To identify topics of research with a wide audience of stakeholders;
• To strengthen interaction between young researchers from the University of Liege and ILSI Europe.

Activity
The seminar was planned on 14 November 2019 in Gembloux, Belgium. This seminar, organised by the ILSI Europe Process-Related Compounds Task Force (PRC TF) tackles subjects relating to such substances, particularly focusing on assessing their impact on human health.

Organising Committee
• Dr Michele Suman – Barilla G&R Fratelli (IT)
• Prof. Giorgia Purcaro – University of Liège (BE)
• Prof. Christophe Blecker – University of Liège (BE)
• Dr Tobias Recker – ILSI Europe (BE)

Call for Abstracts is Open
We invited participants to submit poster abstracts (max. 250 words) related to the topic of the seminar. Please share your abstract with Dr Tobias Recker at trecker@ilsieurope.be. Posters must be A0 size (120 x 90 cm) and in portrait view. Deadline for registration and submission of poster abstracts is 30 October 2019.
