ILSI Europe presented the latest results on early life nutritional programming of obesity: optimising mother-child cohort studies.

The Metabolic Imprinting Task Force of the International Life Sciences Institute, European Branch brought together leading global experts in a 2011 workshop to review and discuss how current and future cohort studies can increase our knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms that may be associated with increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in obese pregnant women. The workshop provided insights into measurements critical for the characterisation of sustainable nutritional intervention strategies in the mother, infant and child for prevention of later life obesity.
